The Story
Inspiration can strike anywhere—even on a walk past the pool bathrooms at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica. I was so captivated by a peacock painting I saw there that I knew I had to create my own version. After the hurricane impacted that beautiful coastline last year, I felt a renewed pull to finish this tribute to its tropical brilliance. This piece also marks my first time using gold leaf to capture the iridescent shimmer of the feathers against the lush, impasto blooms. It’s a celebration of resilience and the pure, vibrant joy found in the tropics.
